Derek Oda is a Military Data Analyst for Cognitive Performance Group. Derek has a background in both the military and the tech industry. He served seven years as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army, followed by three years in the Army Reserves, and currently continues his service in the National Guard. During his military career, Derek led and planned operations at various levels, from platoon to battalion, across diverse settings in the United States and Afghanistan. He is a graduate of the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course, Maneuver Captain's Career Course, and Ranger School.
After transitioning from active duty, Derek brought his skills to the tech field as a Software Engineer, developing software for satellite payload applications. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wright State University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from New Mexico State University.
