Cognitive Performance Group is seeking qualified candidates for the position of full-time Research Analyst. CPG’s mission is to apply the science of human performance and adult learning to improve decision making and complex cognitive performance for individuals and teams. We are a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of researchers, subject matter experts, and learning facilitators who conduct studies and develop products to enhance learning and skill development, assess complex cognitive skills, and model expertise. CPG provides its customers with tools and methods to make sense of problems and find solutions in complex, time-pressured, high-risk operating environments under conditions of uncertainty. CPG is a woman-owned small business and serves customers primarily in the Department of Defense (DoD) and other Government agencies.
The Research Analyst conducts applied research, reviews scientific literature, collects qualitative and quantitative data, performs data analysis, and summarizes results. In addition, the Research Analyst prepares findings for publication and assists in quality control and data management. This position is a junior role within a company of highly talented researchers and as such, offers excellent opportunities for learning and advancement. Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a security clearance.
Regular part time would be considered for the right candidate. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Required Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in psychology, communication, or related field from an accredited institution.
•    3-5 years of experience in a related field or graduate assistantship.
•    Excellent questioning and listening skills with the ability to rapidly synthesize knowledge.
•    Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
•    Ability to work effectively as a team or individually in a virtual environment.
•    Comfort working with ambiguity and new concepts in innovative and rapidly changing  environments.
•    Strong research, analysis, and synthesis skills.
•    Ability to prepare, manipulate, and manage extensive databases.
•    Ability to verify the accuracy and validity of data entered in databases, correcting any errors.
•    Exceptional organization skills and strong attention to detail.
•    Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
•    Interest in conducting research and development for the Department of Defense.
•    ​​​​​​​Must be willing and able to travel, including an occasional weekend.

•    ​​​​​​​Research design & qualitative and quantitative research methods
•    ​​​​​​​Development of data collection instruments
•    ​​​​​​​Statistical analysis, especially using R and SPSS
•    ​​​​​​​Performance measures and metrics
•    ​​​​​​​Literature review
•    ​​​​​​​Adaptive training/instruction
•    ​​​​​​​Naturalistic decision making, decision science, data sciences, analytics, or related discipline
•    ​​​​​​​Competency modeling
•    ​​​​​​​User needs analysis
•    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Modeling & Simulation

Preferred Qualifications:
•    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Master’s degree in psychology, communication, or related field from an accredited institution.
•    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Experience with cognitive task analysis and other semi-structured interview methods.
•    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Proven record of published writing and/or public speaking to a professional audience.
•    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Active duty or other experience working with the U.S. military.
•    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Experience using SPSS or R.
•    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Experience writing proposals and technical research papers.
