Jody Barto is a Senior Learning and Development Consultant for Cognitive Performance Group. She has extensive experience designing and facilitating engaging, meaningful and impactful professional development programs for corporate, military, non-profit, and higher education settings. She has also taught courses as an Adjunct Professor for Columbia University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Manhattan College and Temple University. Her subject matter areas of expertise include: adult learning, leadership development, coaching, interpersonal effectiveness and strategic thinking. Her research interests include informal learning, self-directed learning, and transformative learning.
Prior to joining Cognitive Performance Group in 2017, she was an independent learning and development consultant and coach in New York, NY. She currently serves as an adult learning subject matter expert, curriculum developer/instructional designer, facilitator, coach, and researcher for the Innovative Instruction Workshop project with USMC, Training and Education Command (TECOM). She earned her Ed.D. in Adult Learning & Leadership from Columbia University, Teachers College in 2014. She also holds a master’s of Education degree in Adult & Organizational Development from Temple University and a bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design Communication from Philadelphia University.
